Few North Florida experiences are as iconic as floating down the crystal-clear waters of Ichetucknee Springs State Park. Fed by one of Florida’s most beautiful spring systems, the river winds gently beneath a canopy of cypress and hardwood trees, offering a refreshing escape from the summer heat. Whether you’re drifting quietly with family, spotting turtles and wading birds along the banks, or simply enjoying the cool, turquoise water, tubing the Ichetucknee is a relaxing adventure that captures the natural beauty of Florida at its best. Located less than an hour from Anasa, it’s one of our favorite ways to spend a summer day.
Anasa Tip: For the best tubing experience, start from the North Entrance and take time to swim in the head spring before beginning your float. The crystal-clear spring is one of the most beautiful swimming areas in Florida, with cool 72-degree water bubbling up from the limestone below. After your swim, launch from the North Entrance and enjoy the full river run through some of the most scenic sections of the Ichetucknee. It’s a longer adventure than the popular mid-river launch, but it offers the best opportunity to experience the river’s clear water, shaded canopy, and abundant wildlife from start to finish.
